Real Estate Brokerage Litigation Counsel

About the role

Compass International Holdings is looking for an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its Real Brokerage Litigation Team. The attorney will manage a diverse docket of real‑estate brokerage matters across multiple brands and protect the company’s interests in and out of court.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all phases of real‑estate brokerage litigation from inception through trial or settlement.
• Litigate a personal docket of civil matters and supervise outside counsel on selected cases.
• Prepare and defend company witnesses, depose adverse parties, and draft motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research on complex issues and develop strategic recommendations.
• Represent the company in hearings, arbitrations, mediations, trials and regulatory proceedings.
• Manage out‑of‑state cases handled by external counsel.
• Advise internal stakeholders on litigation risk, identify emerging issues and propose proactive solutions.
• Partner with brand general counsel to communicate, educate clients and support brand initiatives.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Minimum five years of commercial litigation experience.
• Bar admission in California.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage civil litigation matters.
• Preferably some experience with real‑estate brokerage and in‑house legal departments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational detail, consultative approach and high integrity.
