Corporate Counsel (In‑house Attorney)

About the role

KIOXIA America, Inc. is seeking an experienced in‑house attorney to join its legal team. Reporting to the VP and General Counsel, you will provide comprehensive legal support across compliance, corporate, and transactional matters while collaborating with sales, marketing, and planning functions.

Key responsibilities

• Support regulatory compliance initiatives, including ESG and trade‑related issues.
• Advise on HR matters and draft or revise policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
• Review marketing and advertising collateral for legal compliance.
• Monitor new laws and industry trends, developing policies and training as needed.
• Assist with corporate governance, corporate law advice, and transactional work.
• Communicate legal risks to internal stakeholders in clear, business‑focused language.

Required profile

• 5+ years of legal practice, preferably with both law‑firm and in‑house experience.
• Member of the California State Bar or eligible for California’s Registered In‑House Counsel Program.
• Native or professional proficiency in Japanese is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships while maintaining rigorous legal standards.

Required skills

• Japanese language proficiency (preferred).
