R&D Technician - Inorganic Materials

About the role

Queens Carbon is seeking a hands‑on Lab Technician to operate testing machinery and characterize the physical properties of materials used in carbon‑neutral cement production. The role involves following ASTM or company SOPs, maintaining equipment, and reporting results to scientists and engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage material testing workflow from sample submission through completion.
• Accurately record results in a database and import data into graphing programs for R&D analysis.
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment according to SOPs and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain inventory of lab consumables and suggest process improvements.
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of research experience in an academic or industrial setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science.
• Ability to work full‑time onsite in Pine Brook, NJ.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk and lift 35 lb unassisted (or more with assistance).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a team‑focused attitude.
