Radiology Support Technician

About the role

The Radiology Support Technician provides essential support to ensure safe, efficient radiology services for patients. Working within Lehigh Valley Health Network, the role focuses on patient care, safety, and administrative support in a fast‑paced imaging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders for completeness, including signatures, study details, and diagnosis/CPT codes, and obtain missing information before treatment.
• Deliver patient‑centered care, communicate findings to RN or Technologist, and assist with patient transport and positioning.
• Maintain accurate patient records, perform registrations, and manage clerical/computer functions supporting care delivery.
• Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and proper supply levels in the work area.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and contribute to team building.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED; must be 18 years or older.
• Less than 1 year of customer service experience with a compassionate, positive demeanor.
• Ability to multi‑task, organize, prioritize assignments, and follow directions.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient transfers.

Required skills

• Basic computer and typing proficiency.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania) within 30 days of hire.
