About the role

The Radiologic Technologist Specialist (Surgery) provides advanced imaging services, ensuring patient safety and high‑quality diagnostic images. Working Monday‑Friday during day shifts, the specialist also mentors junior staff and supports departmental programs.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders, operate imaging equipment, and perform procedures such as contrast administration, nasogastric tube placement, and IV insertion.
• Review images for diagnostic quality, complete quality‑control checks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead protocol development, competency validation, safety initiatives, and accreditation activities.
• Orient and train junior staff, provide feedback for performance evaluations, and act as a clinical mentor.

Required profile

• Completion of an AMA‑approved radiologic technology program.
• Minimum 5 years of radiologic technologist experience.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the state Radiologic Technology Board.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Radiology Information Systems and related software.
• Strong computer, web‑based application, and documentation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
