Radiologic Technologist - Per Diem, Days (UCC)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a Radiologic Technologist for its Urgent Care Center (UCC) on a per diem, day-shift basis. The technologist performs diagnostic X-rays onsite, cross-trains to Urgent Care Technician duties and supports the front desk. The position requires travel among all Jupiter Medical Center Urgent Care locations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-rays and prepare quality films for interpretation, using knowledge of human anatomy and pathology
• Triage urgent care patients, including vital signs and medical history, and perform onsite testing such as rapid strep, flu and venipuncture
• Prepare patient medical records, collect specimens and maintain chain of custody for forensic collections
• Enter computer data, monitor workflows and understand quality control for point-of-care tests
• Perform surveillance exams (hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKGs), breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening
• Cross-train to support front desk staff, including answering phones and faxes, and register patients across multiple systems
• Discharge patients, promote effective communication and ensure accurate documentation

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited radiology program with an Associate degree in Applied Science
• One year of experience preferred
• Florida Radiologic Technology license and ARRT certification required
• American Heart Association BLS for healthcare providers required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 40 lbs; work in a stressful environment
• Flexibility to travel among all Urgent Care locations
