LPN - Urgent Care (Full Time, Days)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time day-shift LPN for its Urgent Care team. The LPN delivers patient care according to the Urgent Care Center's scope of care, works in a fast-paced environment and is expected to cross-train to support front desk staff and travel among all Urgent Care locations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform surveillance exams such as hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry and EKGs, and breath alcohol and urine drug screening
• Administer vaccines and perform phlebotomy
• Take vital signs, prepare patient records, collect specimens and enter computer data
• Maintain chain of custody for forensic collections and understand quality control for POCT tests
• Cross-train to cover front desk duties, including answering phones, faxes, registration, test results and insurance verification
• Discharge patients efficiently, maintain a clean environment and ensure adequate supplies
• Ensure accurate documentation, current credentials and compliance with hospital procedures

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school for LPNs, with current Florida LPN licensure
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• Strong knowledge of urgent care principles and ability to work under stress
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull/push up to 40 lbs; long periods of standing, sitting and walking
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and adapt to change
• Willingness to travel between Urgent Care locations

• Ability to use multiple computer systems for registration, test results and insurance verification
