Radiologic Technologist - Urgent Care (Days)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time Radiologic Technologist for its Urgent Care Center (UCC) in the days shift. The radiology tech performs diagnostic X-rays alongside cross-training to Urgent Care Technician duties, and the position includes a $5K retention bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-rays and prepare quality films for interpretation, using knowledge of human anatomy and pathology
• Triage urgent care patients, taking vital signs and medical histories, and run onsite tests such as rapid strep, flu and venipuncture
• Prepare patient medical records, collect specimens and maintain chain of custody for forensic collections
• Perform surveillance exams (hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKGs), breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening, and understand quality control for POCT tests
• Cross-train to support front desk staff, including answering phones and faxes, and use multiple computer systems for registration, test results and insurance verification
• Ensure accurate documentation, adequate supplies, current credentials and compliance with hospital procedures

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited radiology program with an Associate degree in Applied Science
• Florida Radiologic Technology license and ARRT certification required
• American Heart Association BLS for healthcare providers required
• One year of experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 40 lbs, and to work long periods standing, sitting or walking
• Flexibility to travel among all Jupiter Medical Center Urgent Care locations
