Radiologic Technologist - Urgent Care (Full-Time, Day Shift)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time Radiologic Technologist for its Urgent Care Center (UCC) in a day-shift position. The radiologic technologist performs diagnostic X-rays and cross-trains with Urgent Care Technicians, while also supporting front-desk duties and traveling among the center's Urgent Care locations. The position comes with a $5K retention bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-rays and prepare quality films for interpretation, using knowledge of human anatomy and pathology
• Triage urgent care patients, taking vital signs and medical histories, and run onsite tests such as rapid strep, flu and venipuncture
• Collect specimens according to laboratory policy and enter data into the computer system
• Perform surveillance exams (hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKGs), breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening, and understand quality control for POCT tests
• Cross-train with front desk staff, answering phones and faxes, and handle registration, test results and insurance verification
• Maintain chain of custody for forensic collections, discharge patients efficiently and promote patient safety
• Ensure accurate documentation, adequate supplies, current credentials and compliance with hospital procedures

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited radiology program with an Associate degree in Applied Science
• One year of experience preferred
• Florida Radiologic Technology license and ARRT certification required
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 40 lbs, and to work long periods standing, sitting or walking
• Flexibility to travel among Urgent Care locations and ability to work under pressure
