Quality Process Engineer

About the role

Michelin's Anderson plant, the largest rubber manufacturing plant in the world, is hiring a Quality Process Engineer. The engineer leads and handles the optimization of a designated manufacturing process within the facility. Entry-level training is provided through formal classes and on-the-job mentoring under an experienced area expert.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure product and process quality by monitoring performance and testing, running diagnostic tests, setting standards and checking adherence to them.
• Apply hands-on technical troubleshooting to existing processes with quality problems.
• Lead the application of root cause analysis in problem solving and deviations from standards.
• Follow up on process capability and help ensure permanent improvements are made.
• Mentor production operators and other team members to improve application of manufacturing standards and response to deviations.

Required profile

• Industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, project or related technical experience is a plus; for entry level this can include internships, co-ops, apprenticeships, military service or similar programs.
• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science Engineering or another technical degree preferred.
• Professional interaction with suppliers, customers and colleagues, attention to detail and data accuracy, teamwork and effective problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to learn other software systems.
