Quality Engineer – Aerospace/Defense

About the role

3M is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead product quality and quality‑system activities for ceramic components used in the aerospace and defense sectors. You will work with global teams, support production, and interface with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead quality and continuous‑improvement initiatives for ceramic components.
• Implement and maintain quality systems, including internal audits, IQC, Lean Six Sigma, supplier development, CAPA, and root‑cause analysis.
• Determine product acceptance based on customer technical data packages.
• Support production to meet shipment targets through efficient quality documentation and product evaluation.
• Provide on‑call support to production, engineering, and customers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
• At least three years of quality or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Experience in aerospace/defense, AS9100, ceramic processing, precision grinding, or related fields is a plus.
