Public Affairs Manager

About the role

Public Affairs Manager responsible for organizing and driving Alfa Laval’s external engagement across Food & Pharma, Energy, Ocean and Service sectors. Reporting to the Head of Marketing – North America, the role enhances the company’s visibility, credibility and influence in priority markets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide analysis and recommendations.
• Build and maintain relationships with trade associations, interest groups, economic development professionals and regulatory bodies.
• Facilitate Alfa Laval’s participation in industry forums, coalitions and working groups.
• Engage with national and regional industry groups on economic and workforce development, sustainability and best practices.
• Partner with external groups to support industry initiatives, thought leadership and collaborative campaigns.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across divisions to align and accelerate critical agenda areas.
• Identify partnership, storytelling and external engagement opportunities to enhance brand influence.
• Lead collaboration with other excellence areas to ensure consistent positioning and messaging.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in public relations, external affairs or corporate communications.
• Proven ability to build relationships with industry groups, economic development and community organizations.
• Experience shaping advocacy agendas, campaigns, coalition efforts or third‑party engagement.
• Skilled in monitoring legislation and industry developments, producing summaries and reports.
• Strong event planning and execution capabilities for speaking opportunities and external initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing strategy, coordinating tasks and influencing stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with persuasive messaging for diverse audiences.

• Competitive base salary typically between $108,000 and $120,000 per year.
