Project Engineer 1

About the role

Techtronic Industries Power Equipment, a subsidiary of TTI, is hiring a Project Engineer 1 for its Anderson, SC office. The engineer manages multiple projects from early concept through mass production and works within an international team. The role provides project management and technical direction to ensure new products are implemented successfully and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily verbal and written communication so all groups work toward timely project completion, explaining technical details to engineers and non-technical team members locally and internationally.
• Drive product design to meet market-driven design guides and cost, timing, reliability and high-volume manufacturing requirements.
• Analyze and select design alternatives, then implement designs into mass production.
• Own technical aspects of product execution, including integration of complex components and assemblies, material selection, packaging and safety, and regulatory and standards compliance.
• Write general and detailed product, performance and testing specifications, refining them with technology and customer requirements.
• Conduct design and safety reviews to obtain approvals for each development phase.
• Drive quality compliance and use design tools such as value analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, design of experiments, design for manufacture, assembly and inspection, CAD analysis and 3D design tools.
• Initiate and follow patent searches to clear infringement, and help develop patents to protect innovation.
• Travel internationally; other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: mechanical engineering, plastic tooling, structural design, consumer product design and product development of electronic consumer products.
