About the role
The Program Specialist II-2 will lead a statewide Extension program focused on feral hog biology, ecology, damage assessment, and population management. Working within Texas A&M Agrilife Research’s Rangeland, Wildlife & Fisheries Management department, the specialist will educate landowners, producers, wildlife managers, and other stakeholders across Texas.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive Extension program addressing feral hog management.
- Deliver workshops, field days, webinars, seminars, and conferences for diverse audiences.
- Identify emerging management issues and create timely educational responses.
- Provide technical support and subject‑matter expertise to County Extension Agents and AgriLife personnel.
- Collaborate with specialists, faculty, landowners, and agencies to design and conduct applied research and result demonstrations.
- Collect, manage, analyze, and interpret data from demonstrations and translate findings into practical recommendations.
Required profile
- Experience developing and delivering Extension or outreach programs.
- Knowledge of feral hog biology, ecology, and control methods.
- Ability to work with landowners, producers, wildlife managers, and county agents.
- Strong collaboration skills with researchers, faculty, and natural‑resource agencies.
