About the role
The Program Specialist II-1 will lead a statewide Extension program focused on feral hog biology, ecology, damage assessment, population management, and control. The role involves developing, delivering, and evaluating educational content for a diverse audience of landowners, producers, wildlife managers, and Extension agents across Texas.
Key responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, implement, and assess a comprehensive feral hog Extension program.
- Deliver workshops, field days, webinars, seminars, and conferences for various stakeholder groups.
- Identify emerging feral hog issues and create timely educational responses.
- Provide technical support and subject‑matter expertise to County Extension Agents and other AgriLife staff.
- Collaborate with researchers, faculty, landowners, and agencies to define priority research questions.
- Assist in planning and executing applied research projects and result demonstrations.
- Collect, manage, analyze, and interpret data from demonstrations and Extension activities.
- Translate research findings into practical recommendations for the public.
Required profile
- Experience in agricultural Extension, wildlife or natural resource education.
- Ability to develop and deliver technical content to diverse audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills with researchers, producers, and government agencies.
