Program Officer, Instructional Design & Multimedia

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Program Officer to design and produce multilingual learning experiences for newcomers through the Settle In platform. This remote position combines instructional design and multimedia production to support refugees and other newcomers in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Design self‑paced, multilingual learning journeys using adult learning principles, plain language, and translation‑ready structures.
• Create in‑language multimedia assets such as short videos, infographics, motion graphics, and social‑media content.
• Manage post‑production workflows in Adobe Premiere, including editing, color correction, sound design, and exporting for web and mobile.
• Coordinate with the Digital Community team for voice‑over, subtitling, translation review, and ensure cultural and linguistic accuracy.
• Maintain visual and instructional consistency across website, mobile app, and social platforms, and ensure accessibility compliance (captions, alt text, screen‑reader compatibility).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, communications or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum four years of professional experience combining instructional design and multimedia production for diverse, multilingual audiences.
• Experience designing self‑paced e‑learning for adult learners and managing complex projects on strict timelines.
• Fluency in at least one of the supported languages (Dari, Pashto, Spanish, Haitian Creole) is preferred.

Required skills

• Adobe Premiere video editing.
• Adobe InDesign and Canva graphic design.
• Knowledge of e‑learning authoring tools and plain‑language principles.
• Understanding of digital accessibility standards (captions, alt text, screen‑reader compatibility).

• Salary range $70,000 – $85,000 per year.
