Program Officer, Awards Management Team (Latin America and Caribbean)

About the role

Prosper Global, formerly Mercy Corps, is hiring a Program Officer for its Awards Management Team (AMT) covering Latin America and the Caribbean, based remotely in the United States. The AMT works with country teams to give them the resources, tools and information needed to run high-quality programs, and the officer oversees a portfolio of institutional and private donor awards while supporting new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the assigned portfolio of awards, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and providing guidance on narrative reporting and prior approvals
• Support country teams' adherence to donor rules and regulations, acting as main contact for institutional donor compliance and helping Relationship Managers with private donor communications
• Review reports and deliverables, manage submission of institutional donor reports and train country teams on award management and compliance
• Review draft proposals for completeness and compliance, coordinate proposal submissions, and support proposal writing and administrative tasks such as drafting annexes and copy-editing
• Act as HQ focal point for donor communications on institutional awards and support Relationship Managers on private donor matters
• Maintain internal knowledge management systems for assigned awards and keep key award documents according to the record retention policy
• Support internal communications, share lessons learned, and provide support during emergencies or complex program start-ups

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field is preferred
• 3+ years of professional experience in international relief and development, including managing the development, implementation, administration and compliance of grants, especially government-funded awards
• Field-based experience is highly desirable, ideally in Latin America and the Caribbean
• Experience with proposal development (support and writing) with donors such as the US Government, European institutions, private foundations and corporations
