Program Manager, New Student Success

About the role

The Program Manager, New Student Success supports the First‑Year Academic Resource Center by designing and delivering workshops, providing individual guidance, and coordinating community programming for transfer and new network students at Northeastern’s Boston campus.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver workshops, community events, and outreach for transfer and new network students, including the Transitions workshop series and Transfer Thursdays.
• Meet individually with students to help them navigate resources, develop success strategies, and connect with campus partners.
• Support proactive outreach to students flagged by the center’s support process, focusing on transfer and global‑network students.
• Assist with center operations such as communications, reception, room bookings, and launching a student‑employment program.

Required profile

• Master’s degree preferred in higher education, counseling, student affairs, human services, or related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience supporting college students through programming, engagement, advising, orientation, residence life, or academic success.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a student‑centered approach.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week with some evening and weekend availability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic data tools such as Excel.
• Familiarity with Navigate360 or similar platforms (a plus).
