Program Coordinator I – Rural Medicine Track

About the role

The Program Coordinator I supports the Rural Medicine Track of the Texas A&M VCOM undergraduate medical education program. Reporting to campus leadership, the coordinator plans, develops and implements curriculum, clerkship activities and student support services.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the longitudinal integrated curriculum (LIC) using LMS platforms such as Canvas and Elentra, and manage scheduling, electives and course requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community physicians, clinical sites and affiliate partners, and assist in recruiting clinical faculty.
• Organize educational conferences, clinical learning sessions, examinations and special events, while monitoring student well‑being and performance.
• Compile and maintain data for accreditation compliance with LCME and institutional requirements.
• Prepare proposals, syllabi, training materials and reports, ensuring confidentiality of FERPA and HIPAA records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in higher‑education administration.
• At least two years of experience in medical education or higher‑education administration.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with learning management systems (Canvas, Elentra, eCampus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Canva, Advanced Excel, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
