Program Coordinator, Hematology Oncology

About the role

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is hiring a Program Coordinator for the Division of Hematology and Oncology within the Department of Internal Medicine, and for the Associate Director of Clinical Research at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. The role works under minimal supervision and acts as Executive Assistant for the Director of Clinical Research, overseeing day-to-day operations, coordinating research initiatives, facilitating cross-department collaboration, improving processes and ensuring efficient research administration.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, coordinate and evaluate program operations and procedures
• Develop or oversee the development of the program budget
• Maintain working relationships with internal and external departments, agencies and organizations linked to the program
• Set program goals and objectives, direct evaluation and quality control, and approve schedules, priorities and standards
• Plan and coordinate special events, participate in conferences and present data and program information
• Design, execute and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure reliable financial information
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures
• Stay current on scientific and technical developments by reading literature and attending functions
• May supervise staff and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Education/Social Science or a related field
• 5 years of experience in an appropriate field; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree
