About the role
The Program Aide provides educational, relational and social experiences for infants, toddlers and preschool‑aged children within Save the Children’s Head Start programs. Reporting to the Education & Inclusion Manager or Center Director, you will support classroom activities, ensure a safe environment, and may travel to multiple program sites or conduct home visits.
Key responsibilities
- Assist classroom staff with daily activities, lesson preparation, and family engagement events.
- Serve as a temporary substitute for Assistant Teachers or Teachers when needed.
- Provide custodial support such as cleaning, trash removal, and maintaining secure facilities.
- Travel between program sites or conduct home visits to support children and families.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors about important issues and child‑safeguarding concerns.
- Uphold Save the Children’s values of accountability, ambition, collaboration, creativity, and integrity.
Required profile
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
- Capacity to build effective relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Commitment to child‑safeguarding policies and proactive risk mitigation.
- Willingness to travel to various sites and adapt to changing classroom needs.
