Production Supervisor - New Fiberglass Mat Plant

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a Canadian-owned manufacturer of roofing and building materials, is hiring a Production Supervisor for its new greenfield IKO Fiberglass Mat plant in Chester, South Carolina, targeted to start up in Q1-Q2 2025. The supervisor leads production operations during construction and the start-up phase, working with the management team and reporting to the Production Manager. The role oversees the manufacture of IKO Mat Tech rolls while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations, engage employees and foster a productive work environment
• Promote a strong safety culture, investigate near-misses and injuries, and maintain OSHA compliance through inspections and safety programs
• Train employees on safety, quality and production procedures, including cross-training and rotation
• Hold regular crew meetings on safety, quality, production changes, goals and plant performance
• Work with other supervisors to meet plant SQDCP metrics and with production and maintenance teams to solve problems
• Improve production methods, equipment performance and product quality, and ensure corrective actions are sustained
• Evaluate team members, coach them and plan and manage production schedules
• Maintain time and attendance records in Kronos, complete shift reports and keep the workplace clean and safe

Required profile

• 4-year engineering degree preferred, or equivalent production leadership experience
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field
• Supervisory experience of 3-5 years
• High-speed manufacturing experience preferred
• Flexible to work the 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift

• Proficiency in MS Office preferred
