About the role
Saronic Technologies is seeking a Production Engineering Manager to lead the creation and scaling of shipyard manufacturing operations. The role bridges engineering, manufacturing and facilities to translate vessel designs into efficient, executable production plans.
Key responsibilities
- Define and maintain the shipyard’s production build strategy, covering panelization, block construction and erection sequencing.
- Develop block breakdown structures and manufacturing strategies aligned with crane capacities, transport limits and assembly workflows.
- Engineer heavy‑lift and transport solutions for large ship blocks, including lift plans, rigging concepts and movement validation.
- Create standardized manufacturing processes for steel fabrication, block assembly and erection, incorporating takt planning and throughput assumptions.
- Identify automation opportunities and drive process optimisation across shipyard operations.
- Lead the development of the Facilities Production Manual, establishing design constraints, weight limits, lifting interfaces and production tolerances.
- Collaborate with ship design teams to ensure production feasibility and translate designs into work packages and build sequences.
- Support the startup and industrialisation of new shipyard facilities, validating production processes and digital simulations.
