Product Performance & Claims Substantiation Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Product Performance & Claims Substantiation Manager to lead the Personal Care product performance, clinical, consumer, and claims‑substantiation activities for BASF’s Care Chemicals division in Tarrytown, NY. The role combines scientific oversight, study execution, and stakeholder communication to ensure our products meet rigorous performance and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute day‑to‑day operations of the clinical and consumer research center, ensuring high quality, capacity, and continuous improvement.
• Design study protocols, recruit and manage panels, oversee study execution, analyze data, and produce comprehensive reports.
• Maintain a reliable pool of clinical panelists in the Tarrytown and Rockland County area and manage payment processes.
• Collaborate with external CROs and partners to design and conduct clinical or consumer studies as needed.
• Identify new product claims for personal care ingredients, prototypes, and bioactives, and develop robust test methodologies and clinical protocols.
• Communicate study results to internal teams and customer‑facing stakeholders, supporting product development and marketing claims.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing clinical, consumer, or sensory testing programs.
• Strong project‑management skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
