About the role
The Procurement Buyer will lead sourcing and procurement activities for assigned categories and suppliers within LGC's global life‑science tools business. This role combines hands‑on purchasing execution with strategic sourcing to drive efficiency, standardisation and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Key responsibilities
- Create, review and manage purchase orders and requisitions in ERP/MRP systems, ensuring accurate pricing, quantities, lead times and contractual terms.
- Track order confirmations, shipments and delivery dates, proactively handling exceptions and risks.
- Lead complex RFQs/RFPs for assigned categories, evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate terms.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for supplier communications regarding orders, deliveries and documentation.
- Support compliance with procurement policies, contracts, internal controls and audit requirements.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in procurement or purchasing functions.
- Ability to act as a subject‑matter expert for assigned categories and suppliers.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple purchase orders and sourcing projects.
Required skills
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience managing RFQs and RFPs.
