Process Integrator – Advanced Packaging & Co‑Packaged Optics R&D

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Process Integrator to lead development and integration of advanced semiconductor packaging modules in an R&D environment. The role bridges unit processes, materials, device requirements, metrology, reliability and equipment capabilities into robust integrated flows.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end process integration for advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration programs, from concept through technology transfer.
• Develop integrated process flows for photonic integrated circuits, electronic ICs, optical engines, interposers, substrates and fiber interfaces.
• Lead cross‑functional execution across photonics, device, packaging, bonding, lithography, deposition, etch, CMP, metrology, optical and electrical test, failure analysis and reliability teams.
• Design and execute experiments and DOE to optimize optical loss, coupling efficiency, alignment tolerance, yield and reliability.
• Create technology roadmaps, integration reviews, risk assessments and executive‑ready reports.

Required profile

• MS or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Photonics or related field.
• 5–10 years of semiconductor process integration experience, preferably in R&D or advanced technology development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technically complex projects with ambiguity and risk.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse technical and executive audiences.

• Salary range: $176,000 – $242,000 per year (USD)
