Pro Assistant Sales Manager in Training

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Pro Assistant Sales Manager (PASM) in Training in East Northport. During a training period of up to 6 weeks, the trainee learns the responsibilities of the Pro Assistant Sales Manager role, including overseeing the in-store Pro Department operations, working with the Store Manager, Assistant Store Managers and field leaders, and helping drive profitability and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Customer service: coach associates on service techniques, manage customer concerns and recognize good service.
• People: help with recruitment and hiring, evaluate performance, coach and develop associates, and support succession planning.
• Safety: ensure associates follow safety and hazmat procedures, use proper PPE and lifting techniques, and correct unsafe conditions.
• Sales and productivity: analyze trends, communicate goals, review game plans and events, and build relationships with Pro and DIY customers.
• Shared manager duties: opening and closing, store readiness, staffing, and handling escalations.
• Store appearance: keep displays, signage and pricing accurate and the store tidy.

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED; no additional education required.
• At least 1 year of work experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift or carry items of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
• Travel between locations is required.
