PRN Pediatric Respiratory Therapist - Registered

About the role

The PRN Pediatric Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, including oxygen therapy, artificial ventilation, and airway management.
• Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs, and provide intermittent therapy as ordered.
• Educate patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans, and document all clinical information.

Required profile

• Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist and certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for data entry and retrieval using Windows‑style applications.
• Ability to operate respiratory equipment for ventilation, oxygen therapy, and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Knowledge of EKG interpretation and airway management techniques.
