About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking board‑certified/board‑eligible General Anesthesiologists to join its expanding MD Primary model of care. The position offers a mix of solo cases and collaborative work with residents and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in a high‑volume tertiary‑care referral center.

Key responsibilities

Provide and coordinate patient anesthesia care for complex surgical procedures, adhering to Ochsner’s core values.
Perform up to 75% of cases independently, with the remaining cases shared with residents and CRNAs.
Collaborate with the Department of Anesthesiology team, which includes 70 anesthesiologists, 100 CRNAs, and over 45 house staff.

Required profile

Board‑certified or board‑eligible General Anesthesiologist (BC/BE).
Ability to care for complex patients undergoing challenging surgeries.
Open to both new graduates and experienced physicians.

Required skills

General anesthesia expertise.
Experience working with residents and CRNAs.
Capability to manage a high case volume in a tertiary‑care setting.
