Postdoctoral Research Associate – Community Health Study

About the role

This Postdoctoral Research Associate position will play an active role in a federally funded, community‑based longitudinal study examining the impact of pay‑what‑you‑can restaurants on heart‑disease risk among food‑insecure adults. The role is based at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center in Dallas and offers a two‑year fixed‑term appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct data collection and both quantitative and qualitative analysis for the NIH/NHLBI‑funded café study.
• Prepare manuscripts, conference presentations, and reports based on study findings.
• Develop and write grant proposals to secure additional research funding.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members on other community‑engaged projects within the Healthy Living program.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in nutrition, public health, or a related discipline (ABD or pending diploma considered).
• Demonstrated research experience with peer‑reviewed publications and expertise in human‑subjects research.
• Proficiency in data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and manuscript preparation.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive, collaborative team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
