Clinical Billing & Payment Associate

About the role

The College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University Health Science Center is seeking a Clinical Billing & Payment Associate for the Oral Surgery department. The role supports high‑volume clinical billing operations, payment posting, and patient financial interactions. The successful candidate will work on‑site in Dallas, providing accurate financial processing and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Post payments from insurers and patients, reconcile accounts, and manage claim denials.
• Retrieve and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) to apply payments correctly.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility, obtain referrals/authorizations, and communicate treatment plans and financial information to patients.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher in business administration preferred.
• At least two years of experience in clinical billing, medical coding, payment posting, or claims processing; four years preferred.
• Experience with revenue cycle management and Epic EMR preferred.
• Certified billing coder (AAPC or AHIMA) preferred.
