Political Science Adjunct Instructor (Part‑time)

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to teach Political Science courses at West Georgia Technical College. This part‑time position supports classroom, lab, field, and distance‑learning environments, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans and standardized syllabi for credited political science courses.
• Evaluate student progress against established grading criteria and submit outcomes to the department chair.
• Maintain required documentation, administrative reports, and attend professional development training.
• Measure program learning outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adapt teaching methods for day, evening, or distance‑learning classes as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Political Science or a related discipline with at least 18 credit hours in the teaching field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: PhD in Political Science, prior post‑secondary teaching experience, and experience with online or hybrid instruction.
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
