PLC/Systems Technician

About the role

Join 3M as a PLC/Systems Technician and work alongside innovative colleagues worldwide. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair process and facility equipment, contributing to the reliability of manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, service, and repair process and facility equipment.
• Perform repair‑type maintenance on PLCs, control networks, AC/DC drives, servo drives, motion control systems, and pneumatic devices.
• Read and interpret PID, industrial control drawings, PLC logic, blueprints, vendor drawings, and service manuals.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and craft personnel during troubleshooting and equipment modifications.
• Provide technical recommendations for equipment or process optimization.

Required profile

• Associate degree (or within 6 months of completion) in Automation Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, or Electrical Controls Maintenance.
• Five years of experience maintaining electrical control systems in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Experience with manufacturing technology on web processing equipment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse audiences.
