Platform Engineer

About the role

Anything is an AI agent that turns English into apps, covering mobile, web, design, AI, backend, infrastructure and payments. As a Platform Engineer you will build the systems that support millions of applications and billions of users, owning major parts of the platform end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through production operation and iteration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate multi-tenant cloud infrastructure, including isolation, deployment, observability and cost controls for customer applications
• Maintain world-class reliability so failures are isolated and do not cascade across customers
• Research technology choices and service providers
• Build platform features with product, such as primitives for real-time data transfer, background execution and scalable APIs
• Use platform telemetry, execution data and feedback loops to improve code generation and application performance

Required profile

• A strong technical foundation from a top CS program or equivalent hands-on experience building scalable systems
• Experience building or operating distributed systems in production (cloud infrastructure, backend services or platforms)
• Evidence of ambitious, self-driven projects requiring problem solving and ownership
• Ability to read deeply, reason clearly and communicate complex ideas
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments, balancing care with urgency

Required skills

• Solid programming fundamentals and some experience with TypeScript
• Nice to have: prior platform, infrastructure or backend experience, early-stage system experience, sysadmin experience, personal projects and diverse interests
