Physician – Internal Medicine (Full‑Time Academic or Community)

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center are seeking an Internal Medicine physician to join a growing primary‑care team. The position can be academic or community‑focused, offering opportunities to provide high‑quality patient care, teach future clinicians, and engage in research.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality patient care and diagnostic services in an academic or community primary‑care setting.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine.
• Participate in clinical research and contribute to the department’s academic mission.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists and advanced practice providers, to manage complex cases.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Eligibility for active Louisiana medical licensure.
• Graduating internal medicine residents are welcome to apply.
• Appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Medicine.
