Physical Therapy Assistant – Acute Care

About the role

The Physical Therapy Assistant provides routine treatment to patients in acute care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role supports patient recovery by delivering prescribed therapy and documenting progress.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Document patient status changes, progress notes, and communicate updates to the therapist.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with documentation standards.
• Participate in staff projects and achieve productivity targets set by administration.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication for interacting with patients and healthcare team.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
