Physical Therapy Aide

About the role

The Physical Therapy Aide supports therapists at the Colusa Indian Physical Therapy Clinic by preparing treatment areas, assisting patients, and handling administrative duties. The role requires a patient‑focused attitude and adherence to clinic policies and confidentiality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and patient apparel according to prescribed protocols.
• Assist patients with heat packs, paraffin dips, exercise equipment, and aquatic therapy, while monitoring motion and tracking walking time.
• Provide translation of medical documents and correspondence for Spanish‑speaking patients.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, greet visitors, and manage front‑desk registration and exit processes.
• Maintain clinical records, insurance eligibility documentation, and supply inventories.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of experience in a physical therapy setting.
• Current CPR certification and knowledge of medical terminology, ICD‑10 and CPT codes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and swim to assist with aquatic therapy.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a busy, regulated environment.

Required skills
