Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Join Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Pharmacy Technician, supporting pharmacists in delivering safe and efficient medication services. This position works the evening shift in a fast‑paced hospital pharmacy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription orders, ensuring accurate labeling and timely delivery.
• Monitor medication inventory, place and expedite orders, and manage expiration dates to prevent expired stock.
• Process medication orders using pharmacy systems, calculate quantities, and compound sterile and non‑sterile products.
• Answer phone calls, respond to customer inquiries, and communicate drug information requests to pharmacists.
• Maintain records for controlled substances and support orientation and training of new pharmacy staff.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with good math and basic computer skills.
• RPT – Registered Pharmacy Technician – State of Pennsylvania (upon hire).
• Preferred: 1 year pharmacy technician experience, CPhT certification, knowledge of inventory control and pharmacy automation.
