Pharmacy Refill Technician – Specialty Pharmacy

About the role

Shields Health Solutions is seeking a Pharmacy Refill Technician to join its specialty pharmacy team in Phoenix. The role focuses on supporting patients through the medication refill process, handling inbound and outbound calls, and ensuring accurate, timely delivery of specialty drugs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance to patients, providers, and internal staff.
• Make outbound refill calls and promptly process refill requests.
• Answer, triage, and resolve incoming pharmacy calls.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists or clinicians.
• Coordinate medication refills and perform precise data entry.
• Assist with claim adjudication and troubleshoot rejected claims.

Required profile

• Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician License (CPhT).
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong communication, organization, and empathy.
