About the role
The Pharmacy Inventory Coordinator ensures optimal medication and supply levels across the hospital network, supporting patient care and pharmacy operations. This position coordinates inventory activities, manages recalls, and communicates supply issues to clinical teams.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate pharmacy inventory, generate and maintain inventory reports, and handle drug recalls promptly.
- Communicate backorders, shortages, and generic availability to stakeholders and update clinical management meetings.
- Place orders with wholesalers and specialty distributors, and track wholesaler issues for quarterly reviews.
- Remove outdated or recalled products from stock and ensure proper documentation.
- Participate in QA activities and maintain assigned technology databases.
Required profile
- High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of inventory management experience.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) certification in Pennsylvania preferred.
- Physical ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb and stand/walk for extended periods.
Required skills
- Operation of pharmacy automation systems.
- Proficiency with PC and inventory/database software.
- Knowledge of drug distribution changes and recall procedures.
