Per Diem Night Shift Respiratory Therapist

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a per diem Registered Respiratory Therapist for night shifts. The Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner performs respiratory care techniques in both critical and non-critical care areas and assists and advises staff Certified Respiratory Practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, continuous positive airway pressure (CPT) and incentive spirometry
• Mechanical ventilation and arterial blood gas analysis
• Pulmonary function testing and pulse oximetry
• Assist with fiberoptic bronchoscopy and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapist program with an Associate's degree
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRCC with a current Florida RT or TT license
• CRT is accepted but must become a Registered Respiratory Therapist within 36 months of hire
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certification
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to attend annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance and new employee orientation
