Per Diem Childbirth Educator (LPN/RN)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a per diem Childbirth Educator. The educator provides education to prenatal and/or postpartum patients and their families, and offers ongoing education for patients and nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

• Educate prenatal and/or postpartum patients and their families
• Provide ongoing education for patients and nursing staff
• Apply nursing process and theories, as well as principles of psycho-social and physical sciences
• Practice autonomously within professional nursing standards, the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Bill of Rights
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Licensed Practical Nurse (RN preferred)
• Current LPN/RN licensure in the state of Florida
• BLS through the American Heart Association for healthcare providers
• Certified in Childbirth Education
• 2 years of experience as a Childbirth Educator in an acute setting
• Physical ability to lift 20 lbs, carry 10 lbs for 25 feet, squat, kneel and push/pull a loaded cart
