Pediatric Respiratory Therapist – Full‑Time, Days or Nights

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) to provide respiratory care for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric across inpatient and outpatient settings. The position offers flexible day or night shifts on the Jeff Hwy campus.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, monitor, and wean patients from oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation.
• Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs.
• Deliver intermittent therapy, assist with airway changes, and perform diagnostic procedures.
• Educate patients and coworkers on treatment plans and document all clinical information.

Required profile

• Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist and certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (CRT or RRT).
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and data‑entry software.
• Ability to operate respiratory equipment, perform arterial blood gas analysis, and interpret EKGs.
