Patient Access Representative / Certified Medical Assistant

About the role

This position performs appointment scheduling and medical assistant functions within a clinic setting, providing direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. The role supports the delivery of health care services and ensures a positive experience for patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, guests, and family members.
• Gather and verify all required patient forms and documentation.
• Enter patient and guarantor demographic and financial information, explain insurance benefits, and collect co‑pays, deductibles, and self‑pay amounts.
• Perform vital signs, obtain medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments by phone or in person, coordinating with appropriate departments.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and individual needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program (preferred).
• Related experience in a clinic or medical office setting (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Preferred certifications: CHAM, CHAA, or Medical Assistant certification.
