Part‑Time Radiation Therapist

About the role

The Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to oncology patients according to the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription, maintains accurate treatment records, and serves as a liaison among physicians, patients, and families.

Key responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy and document port films and treatment charts.
• Request and coordinate required exams, simulations, and field changes.
• Maintain daily patient treatment schedule and perform quality‑control and machine QA duties.
• Document and submit daily billing for patients under treatment.
• Exhibit flexibility in scheduling to meet departmental needs.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
• ARRT registration and state licensure within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and on‑call availability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and data‑entry software specific to radiation therapy.
• Knowledge of radiation therapy concepts, equipment use, and patient immobilization devices.
• Effective verbal and written communication for interacting with patients and healthcare teams.
