Part‑Time Occupational Therapist – Adult Acute

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a part‑time Occupational Therapist to join its Adult Acute team in New Orleans. You will plan, organize, and deliver therapy programs based on patient evaluations and medical referrals, while maintaining accurate care records.

Key responsibilities

• Perform age‑ and diagnosis‑appropriate evaluations and treatments for adult acute patients.
• Maintain patient records in accordance with documentation standards and policies.
• Participate in staff projects, committees, and professional development activities.
• Assist in the education and training of occupational therapy students.

Required profile

• Current occupational therapy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, judgment, and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for data entry and information retrieval.
• Ability to use Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software packages.
• Dexterity for handling equipment and moving objects up to 20 lb regularly.
