Part‑Time Lecturer in French – World Languages & Cultures

About the role

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Northeastern University seeks part‑time instructors to teach French at elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as culture‑focused courses taught in English. Appointments are made on a per‑term basis throughout the year, depending on enrollment and departmental need.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality instruction in French language courses across multiple proficiency levels.
• Teach culture‑focused classes in English that complement language learning.
• Prepare course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with departmental standards.
• Engage with students to support their academic progress and language development.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in French, Linguistics, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• Previous teaching experience at the college level.
• Ability to maintain valid U.S. work authorization without university sponsorship.
