Part‑time Lecturer for Bioinformatics Graduate Courses

About the role

Northeastern University is seeking experienced bioinformatics, biotech, or data‑science professionals to teach graduate‑level programming and biological science courses for its Bioinformatics Professional Science Master’s program. The position is part‑time and may involve in‑person or online instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing instructor guides and prepare lectures using provided course materials.
• Facilitate respectful debates and discussions in class, whether on‑site or virtual.
• Grade assignments promptly, offering coaching and feedback to students.
• Maintain regular communication with students regarding their performance.
• Contribute to curriculum development and adhere to Northeastern policies.

Required profile

• PhD in bioinformatics, biology, or a closely related field.
• Experience applying computational methods to biological problems.
• Either prior teaching experience or at least three years of relevant industry or academic work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty leads and receive coaching.
• Preferred experience in a diverse higher‑education environment.
