About the role

We are seeking a motivated part‑time Laboratory Technician to support our genotyping projects at the Center for Aquaculture Technologies in San Diego. The role offers hands‑on experience in a research‑focused environment and includes on‑the‑job training.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reagents and maintain a clean, organized laboratory workspace.
• Perform basic molecular biology techniques for genotyping assays.
• Sample and dissect animal tissue for downstream analysis.
• Manage inventory for large‑scale sample projects.
• Maintain accurate and detailed project records.

Required profile

• College freshman or sophomore studying a science‑related discipline (preferred but not required).
• Meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Reliable personal transportation and availability to start within one week of offer.
