Part‑Time Adult Education ABE Instructor (Tue/Thu)

About the role

The Georgia Northwestern Technical College seeks a qualified Adult Education ABE Instructor to teach on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Gordon County Campus. This part‑time, in‑person position supports adult learners in achieving basic academic skills across language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with College and Career Readiness standards.
• Provide learner guidance and evaluate student progress toward academic goals.
• Promote the adult education program to community organizations.
• Maintain registration documentation, administrative reports, and a secure classroom environment.
• Recruit, supervise, and direct classroom volunteers as needed.
• Assist with registration, recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Participate in staff development and team conferences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Prior teaching and classroom‑management experience in an educational or training setting.
• Preferred: Master’s degree and experience teaching basic academic skills to adult learners.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers and standard office software.
